Hey everyone! It’s the first Friday of the month and that means we have a current hit for you all: Better Man, by Little Big Town (Written by Taylor Swift). This is definitely a beginner-level tune so, no matter what your experience, I’m sure you’ll be able to get this one under your fingers.
The song uses 3 simple, beginner chords: D, A, G. If those are new to you and you want some extra practice on them, I recommend checking out our list of beginner songs that use ONLY those 3 chords: https://goodguitarist.com/beginner-guitar-songs-chords/
Once we get to the chorus we also need to use a B minor chord. This is a barre chord and if you’re not ready for that yet (you should work on it though!) we have a simple way to play B minor that is beginner-friendly and will allow you to play along without learning the full barre chord.
The strumming pattern is really easy and we go over how to use it on each chord. We also demonstrate how to properly handle the breakdown and slow part during the bridge near the end.
