In this lesson, I’m going to show you all how to play “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” in the key of G. I’ve simplified it as much as possible, but there are still a couple of intermediate level chords in here (Bm7 and F#7).

If you need help with any of the stuff in this lesson, please check out my free eBooks on Rhythm and Lead guitar. They’re free to all my subscribers and you can find them here: https://goodguitarist.com/learn-rhythm-guitar/

The lesson begins with the chord shapes needed to play the first verse: G, Em, Am7, D. We practice playing them in order and then take a look at a simple strumming pattern that we can use for the entire song.

After playing the chords and strumming pattern together, we pause to take a look at the “From now on” part – where the chords go by pretty quickly. We work that out and then finish learning the verse.

Next we learn the bridge, which requires some new chord shapes: Cmaj7, C#m7b5 and a few others. After getting through these chord shapes, we finally practice the last part together, a bit slower than the original recording and that’s it!

Hope you enjoy the lesson and I’ll see you soon!
