Welcome to my Wonderful Tonight Guitar Tutorial by Eric Clapton on acoustic guitar.
This tutorial covers the chords & lyrics, strumming pattern, picking pattern and lead guitar lick all on acoustic, but you can also play this on electric guitar.
Normally I like to keep the lesson portion of my videos under 5 minutes but this one is totally worth it!
Wonderful Tonight Chords: G C D Em D/F#
The chord shapes are pretty simple for the most part. G C D are like an easy 3 chord song on guitar, and the Em is usually the first or second shape people ever learn. The D/F# looks like it might be tricky, but it’s used as a transition chord, so there’s an easy way to pivot and make the switch accurately.
The lead is a little trickier, requiring a bend, which is no simple feat on acoustic guitar! We work our way through it, and try our best. Over time, things will start to sound better – I promise!
