“Sundown” is a great choice for beginners because it uses just a few repeating chords and a strumming feel that’s easy to simplify. Even though the original has lots of rhythmic variation, you can play the whole song using one steady pattern, and then add a second pattern later for extra groove—especially over those E7 sections.

We’ll look at the main chords, break down both strumming options, and show you how to keep the rhythm smooth without getting overwhelmed. If you’re still new to switching between E, A, D, and B7, this lesson gives you plenty of repetition to lock them in comfortably.
