It’s perfect for anyone who wants to level up from basic chords and get comfortable navigating the full fretboard.
Even if you’ve been playing for a while, it’s great to have a visual reference you can come back to anytime you need a refresher.
What are Sharps and Flats?
Let’s start with a quick note: every sharp note is also a flat note. For example, A# is the same as Bb. They’re enharmonic equivalents – different names, same chord. If you’d like a quick and simple explanation of how that works, check out this short music theory rundown (also linked in the video).
Major & Minor Sharp/Flat Chords Covered in the Video
- A# / Bb
- A#m / Bbm
- C# / Db
- C#m / Dbm
- D# / Eb
- D#m / Ebm
- F# / Gb
- F#m / Gbm
- G# / Ab
- G#m / Abm
Each of these is demonstrated clearly using barre chords, so you can follow along and build solid muscle memory. If you’re still getting used to barre chords, take your time with the finger positioning and make sure you’re getting a clean sound from each string.
