🪕 FINGERPICKING PATTERN

Here’s where the real focus of this lesson is. When you break it down it’s just a simple three chord progression with a very repetitive fingerstyle pattern. Just be careful to make sure your thumb is plucking the correct bass note for each chord.

Tip: Break the pattern into two halves when practicing. Master the first half slowly, then add the second. Once both feel comfortable, put them together.

Once you’re good with that you will use the exact same pattern but instead of the A minor chord play the C chord.

🔁 PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

  • Start with just one chord (e.g., G) and loop the pattern until it feels smooth
  • Then try it across the progression, making sure your thumb follows the root of each chord
  • Keep the tempo steady — this song works beautifully at a slow pace

📌 A Note on Lyrics

This lesson is about playing the music by memory and ear, not about reading sheets. As you play along with the video, you’ll naturally hear how the picking lines up with the vocal melody.

🚀 Next Steps

Once you’re comfortable with the picking pattern, you’ll have unlocked one of the most useful fingerstyle templates out there.
