Hey everyone! This week we have a newer tune for you: “Sign Of The Times” by Harry Styles. This one is ALMOST a 4-chord tune and the rhythm isn’t too difficult so it shouldn’t take too long to put this one together!
The majority of the song is a 3 or 4-chord cycle (F, Dm, C, and sometimes C7)… “F?!” you ask? Yep… but we don’t need to play it as a barre chord – we show you a simple workaround that allows you to play a full-sounding F chord without any barreing whatsoever and no capo.
There are a couple strumming patterns in this one. The first is SUPER simple and the other one is pretty easy too, so that shouldn’t be giving you too much trouble either.
It’s not until we reach the Bb chord near the very end that we have to deal with another chord switch (remember how I said this was ALMOST a 4 chord song?) but all we actually need to do is drag the F shape that we show you earlier up a little higher on the fretboard (you’ll see what I mean).
Anyway, the tempo is pretty slow so that’ll give you lots of time to contemplate the switches, and with enough practice this one should be no problem!
