Hey everyone! In today’s lesson I have another classic holiday strummer for you all. It’s “Jingle Bells” by James Lord Pierpoint, written in 1857!
This one is just a few simple chords and for the strumming I’m actually going to give you a few options, depending on how you want your version to go.

The lesson begins with the chord shapes: G, C, D, A. These are among the first chords that most guitarists learn. If this is a bit tough for you, I recommend working through some of my free resources.
We practice playing the chords in order, before moving on to the strumming pattern. When playing the chords in order, I recommend counting aloud to help you keep your place and develop a sense for when you change chords.
Once that’s done, we can focus on the strumming pattern. I give you a few options here and we break down my favourite of the 3. Once again, counting is your friend… that’s how you’re going to get it to sound smooth and eventually be able to play along with the recording.
Finally we practice putting the chords & strumming together as we play through 1 full verse and chorus of the tune. It’s just a matter of repeating that until you run out of lyrics!
