In this lesson we’re going to show you how to play a simple fingerstyle arrangement for “All of Me” by John Legend. The rhythm on the original recording is provided entirely by a piano, and by picking out the notes in our guitar chords we can emulate that sound – and it’s a lot easier than you might think.

In order to focus on the picking, you’ll need to practice your chords so they become almost second nature, so check out our eBook for some videos that go over all the basics and help you build muscle memory in a step-by-step method.

The chords used in this tune are: G, C, Em, D, Am. And we use 2 very simple finger-picking patterns (one for the verse, one for the rest of the song) so it’ll definitely give your picking hand a workout!

I know this lesson is a bit longer than usual, but everything’s laid out in a step-by-step manner, like a walkthrough. So please let me know if you have any trouble following along – I’m always trying to improve my teaching methods!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the lesson and I’ll see you next week!
