Hey everyone! In today’s lesson, I’m going to show you how to play “Believer” by Imagine Dragons. I’ve actually made 2 tutorials for this song. This one shows you the melody, and the chords without a capo (that means we need dun dun dunnnn BARRE CHORDS!). The other one uses just 3 simple chords and is a lot simpler.

The easy tutorial for this song can be found here: https://youtu.be/wdxCb0fjz-0

If you need real help with barre chords, I have a solution that is proven to work. It’s a step-by-step course that takes you from the easiest exercise, all the way to being able to play barre chords in any key (any song!). TABLE OF CONTENTS

1:27 – Melody (verse)
6:09 – Chords (chorus)
9:41 – Rhythm
12:21 – Other bits

The lesson begins with the melody. This one is easy if you think about it as 3 simple shapes. I show you some tips that help you memorize it faster. We also figure out how to count it so you can play it the right number of times and keep the rhythm together.

After that, we learn 3 barre chords. The cool thing is that they all use the same shape, just moved around. Imagine your fingers are a stamp, and you’re just stamping different places on the fretboard. We practice the chords together and then move on.

The rhythm is quite simple, just a basic strumming pattern (pretty sure this one is in my eBook, so check that out if you need extra help). We put the rhythm and chords together, and that’ll get you through most of the song.

At this point, all that’s left is to figure out the bridge, which is literally 4 measures long and very easy to play. If you want, you can play the F chord instead of A diminished, and it sounds great (and is much easier).

All-in-all, this tune is great for practicing the most useful barre shapes and for learning to curl your fingers properly while playing melodies. Hope you enjoy it!
