Welcome to our “Treat You Better” guitar tutorial! This song goes past basic strumming and incorporates an interesting lead that sounds great on acoustic (but even better on electric 🙂
We start out with some basic chord shapes and a strumming pattern. C, G, Am… and there’s also an F barre chord, and if that’s too much, we have an easy F chord that you can play – we show you that in the eBook, mentioned above. The strumming pattern is quite simple, it’s one of the more common ones and shouldn’t give you too much trouble as long as you count it out and remember that slow and steady is the way to go.
Afterwards, we show you how to play a lead part that uses 2 notes at a time. The real trick to this part is the rhythm. Nailing that feel is definitely going to be the difference between sounding like the song or not.
Enjoy the lesson!
James
