Welcome to my most perfect guitar tutorial fingerstyle lesson! If you’re looking for the perfect guitar lesson to get started on acoustic guitar with, then look no further!

In this easy fingerstyle lesson, I’m going to show you how to play it exactly like Ed Sheeran. Chord-wise it’s pretty simple, so we spend most of our time PERFECTING that fingerstyle pattern! I’ll also teach you the PERFECT strumming pattern (for those who aren’t too keen on fingerpicking).

The Perfect Guitar Tutorial begins with the chord shapes: G, C, D, Em, D/F#. If you want to play along to the original recording, you’ll need to slap a capo on the 1st fret.

For those of you not interested in learning a fingerstyle pattern, we quickly show you a SUPER SIMPLE strumming pattern that sounds VERY close to the original. Then we show you which fingers to use, which strings to hit, and how to get the overall feel of the song – exactly like Mr Sheeran does it.
